The Best Summer Diet Program

My hands are almost too sore to type this post.

Blakley and I spent the better part of the weekend cutting and nailing wood, sanding, scraping, caulking, and painting our quirky three-sided garage and backyard deck/porch.

We’re thrilled with how it turned out.

The 30-year-old paint on the deck is what did me in. It had reached its expiration date and was peeling and cracking all over.

Trust me, the temptation was strong to scrape the really bad spots and then get busy with a fresh coat of satin-finished green.

The quick fix would have looked fine from a distance, and I’m sure it would have held up for a few weeks, or maybe even a couple of months.

But without a solid, clean foundation for the new paint to stick to, the fresh paint would be gone by summer, and all of our hard work and expense would have been wasted.

So on I went with my 5-in-1 tool, doing it the right way the first time.

Summer will be here before you know it.

And summer is when everyone wants to be in their best shape.

Trips to the beach. Pool parties.
