Playing Dress Up

For Halloween, I am dressed as a nomad living life on the road.

This isn’t me.

I’m a homebody through and through.

I’m comfortable where I have loved ones around me.

But yet I’m out here living in an Airstream cruising through different states and time zones, far away from anyone I know.

Why am I doing this?

To grow.

That’s truly the reason.

I’m not a sightseer by nature. I don’t care about vacation, I honestly like to work.

But I know that within doing something hard there is growth.

And for me personally, this is hard and I’ve already grown so much.

No, I don’t want to do this forever.

But for now, it’s helping me grow.

It’s helping me to understand what I’m capable of.

It’s helping me overcome my fear. I used to have so much more fear than I do now.

It’s helping me to see the value in a home, a family, and a close group of friends.

It’s helping me see the value in having a church home and a community to live life in.

But for now, I’m playing dress-up as a nomad. And sharing my experiences of growth, that hopefully will help anyone who needs it.

Because after all… The growth that you want… The change that you want…

It’s on the other side of doing something hard.

What were you for Halloween?
