Why You’re Struggling To Get In Shape
After thousands of hours of research, reading, studying, coaching, and probably way too much time thinking about fitness...
I’ve figured out how you can get healthier, stronger, and more capable than you ever thought possible.
Not because you have perfect genetics or endless free time.
And definitely not because you suddenly discovered a secret exercise, diet, or supplement that everyone else somehow missed.
Grab a pen and paper, or open the notes app on your phone, because you’re going to want to remember this one.
Are you ready?
Okay, here it is.
All you need to do is remember that you are not a human being.
Yes, you heard that right.
You are not a human being.
I don’t mean that you’re a ChatGPT-powered form of AI or a cyborg sent from the future.
I mean that instead of existing as a human being, to reach new levels, you need to live as a human becoming.
Here’s what I mean.
If you’re a human BEING, you’re done.
You were born, learned to walk and talk, and slowly turned into the blend of nature and nurture that you are today.
And that’s it.
You’re on autopilot, just BEING you.
If you’re a human BEING, you say:
“Being consistent is so hard. I wish it were easier.”
“I do pretty good during the week, but I always mess up on the weekend.”
“I’m getting older. I’ll probably never be in great shape again.”
“I've always struggled with my weight, so this is just how I am.”
As a human BEING, you’re stuck with the hand you’ve been dealt.
And when the going gets tough, as it always does, you tell yourself that the way you are now is the way you’ll always be.
You’ll just...
keep...
being.
So, if you want to reach those new levels I talked about earlier, you need to be something other than a human being.
You need to look yourself in the mirror and see a human becoming.
As a human becoming, there’s always room to grow.
You’re always learning, adapting, changing, and becoming the future version of yourself.
Your genetics don't get the final word.
Your past doesn't get the final word.
Your age doesn't get the final word.
And neither do the mistakes you make along the way.
As a human becoming, you know that every setback, slip-up, and mistake is an opportunity to learn and get better.
You don't say:
“Why can't I ever stick with anything?”
You say:
“What can I learn from this, and how can I make this work next time?”
Maybe you need a simpler plan.
Maybe you need to stop trying to be perfect.
Maybe you need a different program or a coach.
Maybe your nutrition needs to fit your actual life instead of the imaginary version of your life where you meal prep every Sunday and never have a busy week.
Whatever it is, you adapt.
You keep going.
You keep becoming.
The goal is never to build a life where you never get off track.
That's impossible.
The goal is to become the kind of person who knows how to get back on track ASAP.
Again and again and again.
All of those setbacks and learning experiences are opportunities to get a little stronger, a little healthier, and a little more capable.
So what are you going to do with this mindset shift?
Are you going to limit yourself by continuing to BE...
Or are you going to see what you're capable of by BECOMING?
