How To Be More Consistent With Your Health & Fitness

I’ve studied a chapter of the Bible every day for the last 415 days.

I’ve never read, let alone studied the Bible as consistently or deeply in my entire life. (I’ll give you a hack at the end)

As you might imagine, my knowledge and education of the Word have grown quite a bit.

Which is why something the pastor said yesterday stuck in my brain:

“The mark of the believer is love, not education.”

I plan to keep reading the Bible daily, but all the knowledge I get from my studies is worthless if I don’t apply it outwardly in my daily life.

I need to be transformed by what I learn, and reflect the love of God to others.

The process should be:

Learn it —> Live it

not:

Learn it —> Sit on it

I see this play out in fitness all of the time.

You can read every book written on living a healthy lifestyle, and still never change your unhealthy habits.

You can listen to every nutrition podcast ever recorded, but it’s pointless if you don’t buy, cook, and eat the right food.

You can get a master's-level education from Mel Robbins on self-improvement and procrastination, and still never start that workout program.

If you’ve ever thought or said:

“I know what I need to do; I just need to do it”, you understand what I mean.

So, if more education isn’t the fix, what is?

Action is.

Taking action is harder than learning, but there are things that make it a lot easier to do consistently.

In my case, I got an accountability partner.

Another coach and I are studying the Bible together. We share what we’re learning, and we hold each other accountable.

I also got a plan to follow.

We’re using a specific method that makes it much easier to turn what I learn each day into an application for my life.

From there, it’s on me to make good on living it out.

If you’re stuck in that situation I described earlier…

You’ve read the books.

You’ve listened to the podcasts.

You know what to do, but you’re just not doing it…

Invest in a realistic and sustainable plan.

Get some compassionate accountability.

It’s the most powerful (and simple) way to turn knowledge into results.

Hope this helps!

Jonathan
