20 High Fiber Foods You Should Be Eating
Side effects may include:
Weight loss
Improved cholesterol
Feeling fuller between meals
Better gut health
More regular bathroom visits
Sounds like something you'd hear during a prescription drug commercial, right?
"Ask your doctor if..."
Actually, I’m talking about fiber.
Yep. The stuff your grandma probably told you to eat more of.
Like protein, fiber is getting its day in the sun because it's one of those simple things that can make a real difference in your health.
Eating enough fiber can help you:
Manage your weight. Fiber-rich foods tend to be more filling, which can make it easier to manage hunger without feeling like you're constantly fighting the urge to eat everything in the pantry.
At the risk of being dramatic, think of it kinda like a natural, less potent GLP-1.
Improve cholesterol. Certain types of soluble fiber help reduce LDL (the "bad") cholesterol.
Keep your gut happy. Fiber helps keep things moving, and some types feed the beneficial bacteria in your gut.
Support blood sugar control. Fiber can slow the absorption of carbohydrates, helping moderate blood sugar after meals.
You don't need a fancy supplement or a monthly subscription to eat more fiber.
You just need to eat more foods that have it.
Easy enough, right?
Maybe not if you’ve never paid attention to fiber, and now you're standing in the grocery store trying to figure out which foods actually have a decent amount.
So… As we do… We put together two resources to help you out.
The first is a cheat sheet that shows you easy-to-find high-fiber foods, along with how much is in a serving.

As you add more of the high-fiber foods above, be sure to drink enough water.
Aim for about 1/2 your body weight in ounces per day as a solid goal.
Do all of the above consistently, and your body will reward you with better digestion, health, and fullness.
