A Real Week In The Life of a Fitness Coach
I’ve been sick all week.
Not on death’s door.
Just enough to be annoying.
It’s been very much not a “push through it” week.
Here’s what I’ve not been doing:
– Training hard
– Chasing P.R.’s
– Trying to make it an IG-worthy week
– Beating myself up for taking it easy
Here’s what did happen:
I ate normal, mostly healthy food (plus a few homemade cookies).
I drank a lot of water.
I walked when I felt up for it.
Got my work done.
Watched 4 Christmas movies (and counting).
And I got one mediocre workout in.
That’s it. That’s the whole report.
And honestly, that’s exactly how a week like this should look.
This comes up a lot with our clients right now.
Travel. Illness. Weird schedules. Holiday brain.
So instead of forcing anything, we help them zoom out and ask a simpler question:
“What makes sense this week?”
Sometimes that’s shorter workouts.
Sometimes it’s fewer sessions.
Sometimes it’s just walking and not doing anything dumb.
That’s still staying on track!
One weird week doesn’t matter.
Turning it into a weird month does.
Do what makes sense.
Return to normal as soon as you can without beating yourself up.
Hope this helps.
Jonathan
