Read This Before You Start ANY Diet

Blakley got an electric toothbrush.
Stay with me, it gets more interesting.

It’s not an ordinary Oral-B. This thing spins, vibrates, and probably violates a few FAA regulations.

She used it and couldn’t stop talking about it.

“Oh my gosh, my teeth feel so smooth, like I went to the dentist!”

Okay, I’m due for a new one anyway, so the next time we hit Wallyworld, I grabbed one.

Wow. She wasn’t joking.

Silky smooth. Shiny. Whiter. Fresher. Pretty sure some of my gray hair turned brown too.

I was so impressed, the next day I took off work and ran the battery in this thing down to zero. I brushed all day.

Believe me when I tell you, you’ve never seen a cleaner set of chompers.

NASA called. They saw my smile on the Hubble.

I did such a perfect job brushing that I’m done.

Finished. Completed. Mission accomplished.

I haven’t brushed since, and that was last week.

Ridiculous, right?

If it’s so ridiculous, why do most people treat their health the same way?

“If I can just buckle down and be perfect until I hit my goal weight, I won’t have to worry about it anymore.”
“Once my body looks the way I want, I can finally relax.”

I’ve got news for you, friend…

Health, fitness, weight loss, and body composition change are not projects with an end date.

There’s never a time when you’re “done,” unless you’re happy with regaining the weight, losing your strength, and watching yourself slide back to how you were.

Like your teeth, health and fitness results require routine maintenance, not short bursts of extreme effort.

But because most people don’t understand or don’t want to believe this truth, they take the wrong approach.

They go for unsustainable methods like low-calorie diets, fasting, cutting out carbs, or workout programs so brutal that no mere mortal could stick with them long term.

So when the diet ends, your joints ache, and you can no longer resist eating tortilla chips, your results perform a vanishing act.

I mean… Show me someone who’s on day 4,000 of a Whole-30 challenge or detox cleanse, and I’ll change my mind.

If you’re like us and our clients, you’re done with the whole “lose it, regain it” stop/start cycle.

You want to be healthy, strong, lean, and fit for life.

That only happens when the way you eat and train are things you can do forever.

Sure, there will be changes and tweaks during the ebbs and flows of life, but just like brushing your teeth, it has to be realistic and sustainable, not extreme, since you’re never going to stop.

In other words… if you know you won’t do it forever, don’t even start.

I can tell you from personal experience, it’s incredibly freeing to love the way you eat and train so much that you never think twice about quitting.

It lets you live without the fear that you’ll ever lose your results.

If you’re ready to start your forever fitness plan, we can help.

Until next time… lift heavy, and be nice.
